Located on a historical thoroughfare, The Hermitage Plaza development has an excellent location on the main thoroughfare that historically ran from the Arc de Triomphe to the Louvre, where many monuments and prestigious landmarks can be found including the Tuileries gardens, Place de la Concorde, and the Champs Elysées.

The road was then extended westwards along Avenue de la Grande Armée, past the city boundary of Paris through Neuilly to La Défense. In the 1950s, the area around La Défense was marked out to become a new business district, and high-rise office buildings were built along the avenue. The Grande Arche was inaugurated in 1989 to help place the district on this prestigious alignment. Since, even the very high-end residential Neuilly-Sur-Seine welcome several headquarters along the axe (see page 7).

Further to the west, this historical thoroughfare is now being extended to Nanterre, thanks to the Seine-Arche project. Moreover, Hermitage Plaza benefits from a pleasant environment thanks to a direct river front location.

Hermitage Plaza is located in the west of Paris where the towns of Courbevoie, Puteaux and Neuilly-sur-Seine meet, close to the Parisian ring road. Population figures of theses cities compared to the Parisian metropolitan averages are at first sight in favour of retail development :

In the early 19th century, Neuilly was a 2,000 inhabitants village. The urban growth from Paris extended in the 19th and almost the 20th century. Some private mansions were built in the south as high society members’ summer homes close to the Bois de Boulogne and not too far from the capital.

Located on the historical thoroughfare to the West, in the extension of Paris, Neuilly-Sur-Seine is still well-known to be the highest concentration of wealthy inhabitants in Paris Area and in France – almost 22 % of fiscal households declare an over-100K€ annual income.
Considering also Parisian arrondissements, figures from the Ministry of Economy show also Neuilly-sur-Seine is the :

A business market for key accounts

Over 200 000 people work in La Defense Business District and over 50 000 other people work in Neuilly-sur-Seine (mainly along the Axe Historique). The economic make-up of La Defense is characterized by the presence of a high number of large companies as well as Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs). It should be noted that more than 1500 head offices are located in La Defense and leading companies mostly have offices here.

Main business categories are Energy and Environment (Total, Areva, GDF Suez), Consulting (KPMG, Ernst & Young), Government Authorities and Banking-Insurance (Société Générale). La Defense is known as the financial hub of Paris, although financial institutions are also located in the Central Business District of Paris, in particular in the 8th and the 9th arrondissements.

The district comprises the highest concentration of high-rise buildings in the country and notably with First, the highest tower in France.
